Bringing Linux to the Masses
The Linuxologist started as a sole blog by Rami Taibah in December 2007. Under the guise of Royal HeHe2-ness (hehe2.net), Rami started blogging about his thoughts and what he found interesting on the Internet. Given his enthusiasm about Linux and Open Source, the blog slowly turned into a Linux advocacy blog. Finally, he took the decision to make Royal HeHe2-ness Linux exclusive.
Royal HeHe2-ness enjoyed relative success, with more than 1 million visitors in a year, and many viral posts on Digg, StumbleUpon, and Twitter.
Other bloggers in the Linux community also started contributing such as Jesse Casman, Martin Matusiak, and Ian McLean. Here are some of the most interesting and successful posts in Royal HeHe2-ness history:
And many more! Sit back, relax, and browse the site…You will find a lot of interesting stuff. We promise!
Eventually, Royal HeHe2-ness was hit with reality: It’s awkward name was impeding on its success. We realized that in order to grow beyond our current readers, we need to find a name (and URL) that properly describes our passion.
In June 2009, we settled with the name The Linuxologist (http://linuxologist.com). Eventually, we also want to relaunch our design, and maybe expand into other tools of communication.
